You either need one of two things to make some dough.
Traffic
The first is traffic. If you have traffic then you can make a whole lot of money on the Internet. The clicks really start to add up for those that can get consistent traffic. I used to struggle to meet the $100 threshold each month to even get a payout from Google when I started blogging. PageRank
If you have PageRank, you can get advertisers to pay you for links to your website. Advertisers are always looking for sites that Google recognizes as authoritative. You can make a nice monthly income stream for yourself by renting out some space on your website to these advertisers. It is really easy to do and you will get more opportunities as your PageRank increases.

Could you please clarify across how many sites are you earning that kind of return and how much traffic do you have approximately for that? The bulk of it comes from one website and the rest comes from five others. Amongst the five sites I generate about 110,000 page views a month.

7k uniques is a solid number. Your traffic numbers are fine. It must be the click through rate that is low. Is your positioning of ads optimal?
